“Kabuki Space”

Betty Woodman’s woodcut “Kabuki Space” places images of a pair of her pots in an exuberant Japanese inspired stage-like interior. Woodman blends colors, patterns and forms to create a rich composition that relates to the inventiveness of her three-dimensional ceramic work. She has carefully selected the woodgrain of the nine hand-cut woodblocks to augment the composition and enhance the surface of the print. “Kabuki Space” has been printed in 15 colors on unbleached Thai Mulberry paper 37 x 25″ in an edition of 30 impressions, plus proofs.
