“Earth Cycle”

By skillfully braiding textures and color, Hiroki Morinoue unites the nine square elements that compose his newest woodcut, “Earth Cycle”. Macro and microscopic views combine to suggest cellular structures, water drops, leaves, stones in a riverbed, lava flows and other mysterious forms. The artist’s astute observation into the nature and behavior of light creates a sense of landscape, distance and space. We are given vignettes of our world to contemplate and celebrate.
