The artist describes this project: “Two years ago, I had the good fortune to be invited to paint in the South of France. My studio was an abandoned stone barn- no doors, no electricity or water, only a dirt floor. Outside was a Jardin Sauvage- a nice garden gone to seed. In it were flowers intimately familiar to me from my childhood in California. A large painting on canvas resulted.
Bud and I had been discussing a composition for a new lithograph and he was firm that this painting was the one. By the end of my time at Shark’s, we had a really wonderful print..Wild Garden.”
