“Tattoo Seas Shark”

Hardy states: “A signature piece for Shark’s Ink., he takes the shape of the classic Chinese/Japanese leaping carp, a metaphor for success in life through perseverance (an ancient Chinese legend tells that carp successful in scaling the Heavenly Gate waterfalls would transform into dragons). The Shark rises through a roiling sea of traditional style tattoo designs. Many designs contain names or sentiments pertinent to the artist; “hands across the sea” (very popular from WWI era) with Bud Shark & Don Hardy in unison on this print; “N.K.C.” the initials of my teacher Sailor Jerry Collins; “Fran” my wife; memorial “Mom” design with “G.B.N.F.” (gone but not forgotten), etc. etc.”
